DOG WHISPERER
You know that friend who your dog just LOVES and will always listen too? Yeah that’s me. But it’s not all a fluke, my knowledge of animal behaviour enables me to read your dog and respond accordingly.

ANIMAL LOVER
Your dog is your world. I get it, mine is too. We wouldn’t trust just anyone with them. You want your photographer to truly love animals so that they are patient and calm during the photoshoot. Pee on my camera bag and puppy bites are all so normal to me that I don’t even blink about it.

Our pets are our family, and what better way to celebrate that than capturing the love you have for them in high-quality photographs?
I encourage all clients to be in at least one photograph, even if it’s just your hand as you scratch behind their ear! Whatever will enable you to immortalise your relationship to enjoy today and in the future.
Oh and if you have kids or grandkids, absolutely I accept the chalenge of working with both kids and pets to document their friendship!

Dogs
Having photographed over 1000 dogs, and taught many professional photographers how to work with pets too, I’m confident photographing all dogs and their unique personalities including those who are camera shy, anxious of new people, or easily over-stimulated
The photo shoot can be at your home or vacation rental if you’re travelling, or we can go into nature!

Photographed in your home, with plenty of time allowed for them to come out from the closet they’re hiding in, or for the people-loving cats, to relax into a cosy space after receiving all the attention they first demanded!
You can be in the photos too, or it can be all about them! Either way, it’s their personalities that will shine through.

Having grown up on horseback, I know all about that irreplaceable bond you have with your heart horse.
Perhaps they’re nearing retirement and you’d love to hold these memories close, or, maybe it’s your child or grandchild whose pony is their best friend and would cherish photos with them.

How does a pet photo session like this work?
It’s super relaxed and I guide you through the whole process
Step 1.
GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER
The goal is for you and your pet to have a lovely afternoon that represents your relationship so that in weeks, months and years to come- these photos remind you of the special bond you have.
We’ll custom design a session that truly represents your relationship. That starts with a quick Zoom call.
Step 2.
THE PHOTOSHOOT
We let your session flow naturally, directed by your dog! You’ll spend an hour or so walking, playing and cuddling your pet.
If you want to be in the photos too, I photograph in a non-intrusive way that offers just the right amount of guidance. You’ll feel confident, but not overwhelmed.. and your pet will have the best day ever.
Step 3.
ARTWORK ORDERING APPOINTMENT
Immediately after the photoshoot we’ll sit down and go through the photos together.
At this point I’ll help you narrow your selection to only images you love, and then custom design the perfect package to compliment those photos with wall art, albums and digital copies.

You’ll secure your time over the phone for just €250. We’ll then work out the time and location. The balance is due at or before your photoshoot.

Hi, I’m Kirstie
Specialist pet photographer
I basically grew up on horse back, and if I wasn’t in the paddock, then I was most likely teaching our blue heeler new tricks. My love for animals doesn’t stop at my own though, which is why I spent a decade photographing (and cuddling) the adored pets of Australia with their families (both adults and tiny humans!) under Bitsa Bernard Photography.
You may noticed when we meet that I completely ignore your dog- no matter how much I want to cuddle them, it’s important that we let them choose when that time is. This little trick is one of many that I have to ensure that your dog is relaxed, and we can capture the most natural portraits of them for you.
